A dog for every piece of furniture

I have a dog for every piece of furniture, and every dog has a piece of furniture. Well, except Jenson. He has lots of dog beds.

Over the last year or so, Ellis has become my couch buddy. He and I spend most of our evenings hanging on the couch. None of the other dogs even try to get up, somehow they just know that it is Ellis' place. I never thought I'd be that person that has a big old labrador snoozing on the couch, but I guess I am. Ellis isn't terribly big at least (68ish pounds).

And now, over the last few months, it has apparently been determined that Gelly is my bed buddy (better than a bed bug!). I can't fall asleep with her on the bed (she is totally in the way!), but every night, about 3 in the morning, she gets up and curls up with me. She sometimes wakes me up a little, but I am so out of it I just go with it. But I have to admit that I sort of like waking up with her curled by my side (or sometimes on my pillow). Ellis tried this a few times last winter, but somehow it never stuck. And now I think he just defers to her.

So it is sort of nice that I have times and places to cuddle with both the pets without the other in the way.

The dogs are definitely growing on me ;)
